Kihun Yoon
Korean baritone Kihun Yoon continues for a seventh season as a principal artist in the vocal ensemble at Oldenburgisches Staatstheater, where he sings the title part of Mendelssohn’s Elijah, followed by Frank Die Tote Stadt, Wotan Die Walkure, Borilée Les Boreades, Balstrode Peter Grimes and to close out the season, the role of Marco Gianni Schicchi. He returns as a guest artist to Los Angeles Opera, where he was previously a member of the Domingo-Thornton young artist program in 2016/17, to sing the role of Germont La Traviata.
Previous highlights of the artist’s career in Oldenburg include his great successes in Wagner’s Ring Cycle last season, in which he sang Gunter Gotterdammerung, Wotan Das Rheingold, Wanderer, Die Walkure and Alberich Siegfried winning outstanding reviews.
