Eva Vogel

Mezzo-soprano
Representation: General Management, Worldwide Representation

German-born mezzo-soprano Eva Vogel’s 2026-27 Season marks her continued participation in the roles of Flosshilde Das Rheingold and Götterdämmerung, and Rossweisse Die Walküre under the baton of Kent Nagano in his celebrated Ring Cycle collaboration with Dresden Music Festival and Concerto Cologne. September performances include Götterdämmerung at Lucerne Festival and at Paris Philharmonie, and she revives all her roles on tour with the company in the Spring to Hong Kong and Vienna.

Recent successes include Rossweisse at La Scala Milan under the baton of Alexander Soddy; Larina Eugene Onegin in a new production at Opera Bonn directed by Vasily Barkhatov; Das Lied von der Erde with Belgrade Symphony under Daniel Raiskin; Verdi’s Requiemat Elb Philharmonie with Hansjörg Albrecht; Erda Das Rheingold with Philharmonie Ekaterinberg under Christoph Stöcker; and her appearances as Flosshilde Das Rheingold and Rossweisse Die Walküre with Kent Nagano and Dresden Music Festival in major summer festivals in Europe.

“In the three shimmering, exotic songs of “Shéhérazade,” she transports the audience to distant lands and mysterious landscapes. With great sensitivity and a wonderfully velvety, richly resonant voice, she shapes these musical worlds with striking intensity. In the three poems for voice and orchestra —“Asie,” “La flûte enchantée,” and “L’indifférent” — the mezzo-soprano effortlessly captivates her listeners.”  Christiane Magin, Die Rheinpfalz

“In Hans Krása’s setting of Rimbaud’s “The Lice Hunters,” Eva Vogel impresses with her warm contralto coloring and impeccable diction, leading to a distinctly Freudian conclusion.”  Jörg Wundert, Tagesspiegel

“With her velvety, flowing mezzo-soprano — flawlessly guided from profound depths to soaring fortissimo — Eva Vogel proved herself a subtle interpreter and a model of exemplary declamation.”She shapes the minimalist “Ich hab’ im Traum geweinet” with nothing short of breathtaking intensity, as if it were a condensed psychological portrait, trusting entirely in the substance of the music without any vocal overemphasis. Even more astonishing is her ability, in the emotionally charged “Ich grolle nicht,” to forgo any blustering rage in favour of an inwardly directed pain. Brilliant!” Klaus Albrecht, WAZ
