Patrick Cook
Patrick Cook begins the fall season as Siegfried (c) Der Ring des Nibelungen with Dallas Symphony. A member of the ensemble at Deutsche Oper Berlin since 2020, he reprises the role of Die Hexe Hänsel und Gretel with the company following his highly lauded debut in the role in 2023.
Recent season highlights include his return to Washington National Opera as Junger Diener Elektra in a new production by Francesca Zambello. He made a critically acclaimed debut in the title role Siegfried at Landestheater Coburg.
Last season’s assignments at DOB included Erik (c) Der fliegende Holländer, Erster brabantischer Edler/title role (c) Lohengrin,Walter (c) Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg and Siegfried (c) in the company’s new production of Der Ring des Nibelungenwhile he sang the roles of Erster Geharnischter Die Zauberflöte, Erster Gralsritter Parsifal, Messenger Aida and Yamadori Madama Butterfly. The tenor completed the season with performances of Erik at Landesbühnen Sachsen.
“…he was able to convince over two and a half acts with wonderfully youthful, brightly tamped heroic tenor, gently thoughtful passages in the piano, with carefully inserted top notes, but wild impetuousness in the game.” Michael Vieth, Backtrack, March 14, 2023
…the fine tenor Patrick Cook, in his Met debut, was a perfumed prig as the master of ceremonies presiding over the ball.
Seen and Heard International, Rick Perdian, 2 December 2019
Outstanding Patrick Cook as husband, ex-lover and son-in-law in “A Quiet Place” …musical design, presence, and play merge into intense role-building that is rarely experienced.
