Timothy Mix

Finnish American baritone Timothy Mix’s current season engagements include his debut as Pere Germont La Traviata at Fargo Moorhead Opera, Danilo The Merry Widow at Maryland Opera, Peter/Father Hansel und Gretel at Annapolis Opera, and the title role Gianni Schicchi at Knoxville Opera.

Last season he appeared as Dr Bartolo Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Annapolis Opera (a role he previously sang at Opera Delaware, and at Amarillo Opera), Sam Trouble in Tahiti at Annapolis Opera, Marcello La Boheme at Opera Colorado, Enrico Lucia de Lammermoor at Nashville Opera, and Farmer Bean The Fantastic Mr Fox at Opera Omaha.

Recent successes include his debut as Alberich at Opera Santa Barbara in the Jonathan Dove adaptation of Wagner’s Das Rheingold, his return to the role of Joseph de Rocher Dead Man Walking at Opera Idaho, and a role debut as Dr Bartolo Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Opera Delaware. Other recent appearances include the title role Sweeney Todd at Opera Tampa and Dulcamara L’elisir d’amore at Annapolis Opera.  The artist has often appeared at Santa Fe Opera, where he jumped into the role of Tsar Dodon in Paul Cullen’s Le Coq d’Or, and more recently sang the role of Jack Hubbard in a new production of Dr Atomic.
