Arbour Artists proudly celebrates dramatic soprano Åsa Jäger as she prepares to make her highly anticipated role debut as Isolde in Richard Wagner’s Tristan und Isolde at Norrlandsoperan, opening October 25 and running through November 22, 2025.
Often described as “the opera of operas,” Wagner’s masterpiece has captivated audiences for more than 150 years with its intoxicating blend of love, longing, and transcendence. Under the direction of Dan Turdén and the baton of Eduardo Strausser, this new Norrlandsoperan production promises to be one of the season’s defining cultural events.
For Åsa Jäger, this marks an important artistic milestone—her first portrayal of Isolde, a role that stands at the summit of the dramatic soprano repertoire. Following acclaimed performances as Senta and Brünnhilde, Åsa now continues her Wagnerian journey with this monumental debut. Her commanding presence and deeply expressive artistry make her an ideal interpreter for the role, where music and emotion fuse in a timeless meditation on love and desire.
As rehearsals continue, Åsa has offered a glimpse into the creative process through rehearsal and costume imagery that capture both the intimacy and intensity of this production.
