Arbour Artists is delighted to officially welcome stage director and librettist Amy Stebbins to our distinguished roster.
Amy Stebbins is celebrated for her innovative approach to storytelling, blending opera, theatre, and emerging media forms such as virtual reality and film/orchestra collaborations. Her acclaimed production, Mauerschau (Bavarian State Opera, 2016), earned the prestigious Opera Festival Prize and further international recognition when it was presented at the LvivMozArt Festival in Ukraine under conductor Oksana Lyniv.
Since her breakthrough, Amy has secured commissions from renowned institutions such as Augsburg State Theater, Neuköllner Oper, and Frankfurt Opera, establishing herself as a compelling voice in contemporary opera. Her commitment to pushing artistic boundaries continues as she recently joined the pioneering “Immersive Opera” team at London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Funded by UKRI, this ambitious project is dedicated to exploring and creating innovative formats for operatic experiences through extensive international collaborations.
Amy’s extensive artistic journey has been supported by prestigious fellowships and residencies, including MacDowell, the Academy for Theater & Digitality, Lincoln Center Directors Lab, the German Chancellor Fellowship, Akademie Musiktheater heute, and the Fulbright Foundation.
We are happy to have Amy Stebbins join Arbour Artists, and we eagerly anticipate the visionary contributions she will bring to our community and the broader opera landscape.
